Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure
So last night not even knowing what a googlewhack was I saw this live performance and it had me on the floor laughing.
gormano is a comedian from near London apparently. In 2003 (so this is a while ago) went on this world tour that he really really did not want to go on. If I saw anything more it would really spoil the movie. Okay a few thoughts, not exact quotes mind yiou:
So it's just me and the computer, no distractions. The problem is when your computer is connected to the Internet, you are connected to the whole world. The world is a bit of a big distraction getting in the way of writing a novel.
If I was a any good at writing fiction, I would have written a novel.
SO to conclude: watch it if you can, no US release of the DVD but it is out on the net, some clips on youtube. I heard the book is better and you can get that from amazon.

I have deleted some others recently
Out of the blue I was thinking of a movie . Wait I have that film on laserdisc. So I left IRC, turned on my player that I have not used in two years, and watched the movie. I know full welll I have work tomorrow. Geeze what a nut I am.
And just remember about good dreams.
"Foolish little figs! Happy as rats they are...they tap dance not neither do they fart!"

Two conventions this month
Arisia in Boston is next weekend and then following that Further Confusion
So what am I going to be doing at these cons?
Arisia: generally hanging out with people and having fun, attend a few panels but only a short stay for this relatively local convention..
FC: Well doing a lot of costuming, not being in the masquade this year as I want to be free (unless someone has something for me to do then well how could I say no?)
Pictures and parties. Still short one in the room though and I can not see that space filling up in the next 12 days. Know anyone looking for a room space?
Lots of pictures to be taken this year.
I can tell the conventions are getting close as I see the the German furs group are knocking around in there rented RV

I have always liked Terry Pratchett's books.
And during the New Year's day sometime you will be able to call him Sir Terry Pratchett. It is interesting I notice a lot of edits on the Pratchett wiki page about this.
It seem a lot of people have enjoyed his books.

I hate con reports so this is my non-report of items
- "Foxes are Guilty" ribbons arrived in my room by next day shipping on Friday morning when I was out for a haircut, they were quite a success in my option
- Small birthday get together in my room with a few people, you know who you are, thanks for coming
- FVS, although not the best this year I think learned a lot from feedback. If you did not feedback go to the website and do so
- dinner with a few after the FVS, really nice and thanks for that again
- vegging alone in room to unwind was nice. Maybe I should have looked for someone but I took a mid-eve nap and was ready for fursuiting for a two hour period that I would not have had the energy to do
- no shot outs, I always miss people, It's my memory. But really it was good to see you all that I did see at MFF

Also it seems some think I am getting old. I am not old.
I am hearing this quote more and more when I ride the rig. "Hay, let the young guys do that"
The thing is people say what goes around comes around. When I joined the volunteer fire service I was 27. I use to say that to people that are my age now so it is funny being at the other end.
I will be 48 in a few weeks and really

So as
furfright comes, just a reminder if you meet me for the first time:
I like to talk about non-furry things and furry things.
I like to talk about geocaching, sunrises, sunsets, skydiving.
I do not like to be touched from behind or below the ribs. Do not pet me on the head. Hugs are okay if I know you.

Food in flushing yesterday with
usedhair
Okay this was a fun little outing for food.
A while ago the New York Times published an article on Chinese food in Flushing.
We are off with the list from the NY times in hand this time. Most times I am here I go to either Mini's shabo shabo or the flushing mall. but this time we followed this map. We parked at the usual parking lot and noticed the new Muni meters that the city installed take credit cards but it took us 9 tries and 5 machines before we could get a window receipt for the parking.
Anyhow after that we headed down Main Street to the Shi Hong Mall but could not find it, so we went into the Golden Shopping Mall (Wong Jing Xian Chan) to hunt down Dan Dan Noodles. We ended up going in the upstairs but people noticed that I carried a copy of the of the article and pointed us to the basement. The stairs led outside, but we found another entrance to the basement.
I am not sure we had Dan Dan Noodles but whatever we had was really tasty
After that we made another attempt at finding the Shi Hong Mall and found it to be closed. In the window in English was the name of the place we were looking for in both #28 back at the Golden Shopping mall. The thing is hit or miss and this was a miss. The cold noodles did not taste that good and we ended up not finishing that. The lamb though was good.
Quite full at this point I wanted something sweet so looking at the map again we searched for the Sun Mary Bakery, and it was closed. We just at that point settled for bubble tea and cookies

Every once in a while there comes a cross genre story that is both Science Fiction and Anthropomorphic that I just have to pimp to the people that read my LJ. EP169: How I Mounted Goldie, Saved My Partner Lori, and Sniffed Out The People’s Justice is just such a story.
This story is from my subscription to the free audio short story podcast Escape Pod
What can I say? The story has a dog, sex, crime and there is justice.

SO for the past few years I have been eating in Flushing near Main Street. I have found a bunch of places and also have been shown by people like
mortonfox and
quentincoyote when he lived in queens.
Now the New York Times has reviewed a bunch more places: Flushing, NY food map and Article
I have a mission now. I have to eat. I need to share with people also! (
